This video gets me every time. So rad.

Literal Monday Blues.

Being sick and stuck in bed puts the cherry on top of Monday blues. With AT&T's lovely internet service at the moment slower than a snail traveling its way through molasses, I am also without any form of entertainment. With the only movie being on my laptop currently Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind (at some point I am too exhausted to even read subtitles) I would rather watch water boil at this point.
Also, the current expenses are depressing me.

Things my money goes towards: Food and Alcohol.

Things my money should go towards: Plane tickets and traveling

Yes, I am aware I sound like a spoiled brat.

Enjoy some Howlin' Wolf with that glass of whine.

Busy Bee

As usual- preoccupations are making it hard to find new music (that is actually catching my attention at that).

MIA

About time I got back to writing on here. I needed to cool off from the mind numbing search for new music. So now that I am back- I will put something light up. Something cheery and folky. Although at times The Lighthouse and the Whaler comes off a little too pop (vocally), I still enjoy their Decemberist-esque sound in the track 'White Days'.

Strunz y Farah are a flamenco duo- Jorge Strunz being from Costa Rica and Ardeshir Farah from Iran. They both have been playing guitar professionally since their teens. I have a soft spot for guitar. Unfortunately none of their tracks are available online- so I am posting some videos for you to enjoy. Their music, along with all flamenco and gypsy jazz is a damn tease; I really need to travel to Spain.

and a little bonus: John Gilliat

Okay, so my apologies for the growing collection of videos on here. My dropbox is too full and I am too cheap to pay for more space. Happy Friday!

I have been hungover since I woke up at 10 this morning (its now 4). My ability to cope with liquor is that of a 40 year old's body apparently. Trying to rally for another show tonight by listening to some healing tunes.

Two minutes in.

It is pretty nice out today. Feels like summer- minus the freedom from obligations. This is a short post because my brain is not properly functioning without coffee to write something somewhat informational about this artist. Sorry folks.

Moths- Summer

Ugh. I have not posted in a month. It might be a good thing; I have a life. Still feeling like such a slacker though. To continue the laziness I am going to re-post a favorite of mine. Ocuban. Also I will post up some tracks from another project of his going by the title of Casa Castile which has vocals by Andrew Nabuco himself. Much respect.

Dreamy

One more song to end the day on a lighter note. Lanterns On The Lake is a dream pop band from Northern England with music that places so perfectly for this rainy weather. 'Lungs Quicken' has easily captured my heart.

Lanterns On The Lake- Lungs Quicken
Lanterns On The Lake-Lonely Sail

In The Waiting Line

Listening to the Netsky essential mix has made this day so much better. If you have not listened to it, I highly recommend it for those who love drum and bass. Really infatuated with this Zero 7 remix he threw in there.

Tuesday Snooze Day

Minizza is a French duo whose tracks are beautifully and electronically mellow. I was unintentionally drawn to their music without the knowledge that they helped in produce Erlend Øye's album Unrest; an album which I am all too familiar with and adore.

Minizza- Je Suis Adore

and since I have Erlend on the mind...here is one of my favorite nostalgic tracks.

Dirt

Just because I am in the mood for some deep house, I will share DirtyBeats. I recommend wearing headphones so you can actually hear the bass (if you are like me and your speakers suck). Mmm yes.

DirtyBeats- Alone In The Jungle (French Fries Remix)

New Radiohead

I know I am probably the millionth person to blog about the new Radiohead album.

Contemplating Office Slumber

I am sleepy as hell today and have a temporary glaze over my eyes. All I want to do is crawl in my bed and sleep a few more much needed hours. Coffee, YOU ARE FAILING ME. Here are some tunes that are currently keeping me sane.

Shigeto- What We Held On To
Blockhead- Grape Nuts and Chalk Sauce
Quantic- Juanita Bonita
Mechanical Me- Beachy Head (Bonobo Mix)

TGIF

Absolutely head over heels in love with this track by Wax Stag (remixed by Bibio). It has been on repeat all day.

and here are some videos and other tracks that I highly recommend from both Bibio and Wax Stag:

Bibio-Sugarette
Wax Stag-And How (Bottin's Discursive Verison)
Bibio-Kaini Industries (Originally a track by Boards of Canada)

Kerogen

Don't ask me how I discovered Kerogen, but I am satisfied with my findings. He is an electronic producer from London with a niche for sampling and down tempo tracks. I am lured in because he has a dark trip hop-ish sound.

Guilty Pleasure

I am aware that Ellie Goulding is no one new to the music world, but more recently she has grown on me (note that at first I wasn't a fan). She is extremely talented vocally, I don't think anyone can deny that. I am aware that Goulding is as girly pop as they come, but have an open mind. The UK artist has a very unique and incredibly beautiful voice that in turn draws a number of other artists to remix her tracks.

*Everything about this cover is absolutely amazing. The original Midlake track is a favorite of mine so naturally I became absolutely giddy when I found this version.

Wake Up

I became increasingly curious today when I came across another Mercury remix of a Le Le track. The Mercury remix of "Breakfast" is still a hit in my books and always will be. Although I am not a huge fan of the vocals in Discomonster- the deep beat makes up for it and the track sure as hell is waking me up more than this cup of coffee.

Its long, but you'll thank me later

Quickie

The combination of having no internet at my apartment for the past 2 weeks and being super busy moving and such has crippled my ability to write new posts. With a spare moment on my lunch break I will go ahead and post this track. Enjoy!
